They say ;
“Knowledge is power”
And I can’t agree more.
Being knowledgeable does not mean going to college or university for the rest of your adult life.
It only means, to keep learning.
It doesn’t mean you have to stay cooped up in a library reading books day in and day out.
There’s other ways of learning.
Here’s 4 easy ways to become more knowledgeable.
1-Surround yourself with people that have knowledge
Regardless of who you hang around with, you likely become more like each other.
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” — Jim Rohn
I think it is human nature to gather with people that resemble us. It provides us with a sense of belonging and acceptance in the group.
Sometimes we might grow old of our circle of friends. We might discover a new topic that no one in the group is interested. We might realize, we are hanging with a bad crowed and we just need something different.
Getting out of our comfort zone isn’t always easy.
If we want to make a change in our lives, we need to change our surroundings.
Think about it.
At school, they’re was different groups of peoples. The jocks, the nerds, the popular kids, all used to hang out with each other.
If you wanted to become one of them, you had to slowly hang out with them one way or the other.
In the adult world, things aren’t so different.
Rich people, business men, and entrepreneurs tent to hang out with each other.
Professors, physicists and engineers, follow each other.
If you wanna become knowledgeable, reach out to knowledgeable people. Next thing you know, you will be.
2-Ask Questions
We are born with the hunger of wanting to know why.
As soon as we learn how to talk and communicate, “Why” becomes a very powerful word!
At a young age, we start asking “why” to pretty much everything.
Why does a dog wags their tail?
Why can’t there be snow in summer?
Why is the sky bleu?
The same questions is sometimes asked more than once.
If the answer stays in the same nature, our brain’s eventually memories the answer and we become more knowledgeable.
We learn best when asking “why’s”.
When we stop asking questions, we stop learning.
Questions makes us evolve, makes us wiser, makes us want to know more.
We might be intimated by others for asking a question, and that is ok, ignore them and just ask the question again in order to get proper answer. Often, others around you have the same question, and have less courage to ask.
In order to continue learning or to gain knowledge, never stop ask questions.
3-Ask for help
Asking for help is not an easy task for most people.
Admitting you can’t do it alone sometimes hurts our ego.
Maybe it’s the fear of being rejected, embarrassed or that you don’t want bother anyone with your problems when asking for help.
There is nothing wrong with asking for help.
Just asking for help on something may not be enough. Sometimes you need to elaborate the reason to why help is required or on what you need it for.
“Can I use your help on my task?”
“Can you help me on a task of mine? I am having issues, and I’m not sure what my next step is.”
The first question almost ask you to do the complete task. Simply sounds like the person simply can’t do it.
The second question is requesting the same as the first question.
However it added an quick explains as to what exactly is the help required.
This way you have better chances of getting help and possibly have a little extra advise on how to better handle the situation on your own the next time around.
4-Do your own research
Google’s a powerful tool.
When research is done right, you can find tons a good and knowledgeable information online.
You can also be easily scammed, so beware.
Regardless of the subject you are looking to get knowledge on it, do your own search.
Connect with others online. Find a group that you connect with and with whom they can share their knowledge with you and others. Ask them your questions and someone will always reply with the best information and knowledge.
By changing your surroundings, asking proper questions and a little research, your knowledge on any subject can multiply in just a few weeks or months.
